The OCAPA 8-Ball Doubles Division is played twice per month, every other Tuesday, at 7:30pm. It features 5 months of regular session play and 3 total weeks of playoffs. The weekly fees are $30 per team per week played.
There are 2 sessions a year, Season One & Season Two. Season One begins in March and runs throughout August. Season Two begins in September and runs throughout February.
The top 4 teams plus a wildcard will qualify for playoffs. The 1st place team in division standings at the end of the session will earn a bye until the final week of playoffs, guaranteeing that they will walk away with prize money! The playoff champions will earn a spot into the
APA 8-Ball Doubles Championships
in Las Vegas. The only way to make it to Vegas to compete in the Championships is by playing in a division!
A team consists of 2 players with a combined skill level of 10 or less. There is an option to add a 3rd player to the roster to fill in for any original player during regular session play to avoid forfeited matches however, this 3rd player must be able to compete with either of the 2 original players at any time and still stay within the skill level cap of 10.
For each week of play, there will be a total of 3 matches played - one doubles match and two individual player matches. The total points available will be 12 (two individual matches worth up to 3 points each and one doubles match worth up to 6 points).
All players must have at least 10 8-Ball or 9-Ball scores (not combined) within the last 2 years to be able to participate in this division. All players must have at least 20 8-Ball scores within the last 2 years prior to the start of playoffs to become eligible to advance to the APA 8-Ball Doubles Championships in Vegas. If a player does not have 20 scores then the team will be allowed to participate in playoffs for a cash payout, but not the Championship spot.
