The Orange County APA Pool League is owned and operated by Vicki Wade (photo left) and staff with the League Office based out of central Orange County, CA.
The league is in it's 14th year in Orange County and serves three different areas (Beach Cities, Inland OC and North OC), offering each area the opportunity to play locally in a well organized and professionally managaed amateur 8-Ball or 9-Ball pool league.
Players, 21 or older, compete in a fun and exciting pool league format with family, friends and co-workers. On top of the league night fun and excitement, players and teams have the opportunity to win cash, trophies, award pins and patches, and a trip to the $1.5 Million APA National Championships in Las Vegas that includes a generous travel allowance for lodging at the Rivera Hotel & Casino, site of the APA National Championships and paid event entry.
Players also have the option of participating in one or more of our money tournaments held throughout the year, some of which have little or no entry fee. Members of the league have also enjoyed professional exhibitions right here in Orange County with names like Mike Massey, Mika "The Iceman" Immonen and Roberto "Superman" Gomez.
One reason the APA Pool Leagues are so popular is because of The
Equalizer®
, APA's copyrighted handicap and scoring system that allows players and teams to compete nearly equally regardless of skill or experience. With this unique system, the league offers a great experience for beginners and highly skilled players alike. It also helps prevent the same teams from winning year after year.
When it comes to amateur pool leagues, the APA is constantly setting the standard for others to follow and is widely know as "The Governing Body Of Amateur Pool". It's no wonder that the APA is the largest amateur pool league in the world with over 260,000 members. Talk to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. You'll find that they either play in the APA or know someone who does. It'll surprise you! Clerks, secretaries, janitors, lawyers, chiropractors, doctors, waitresses, truck drivers, bank tellers, and even school teachers ... all play pool in the APA Pool League. Over one fourth of APA members are female. Think you're not good enough to play in the APA? Consider this: 75% of APA members are beginner to intermediate players, meaning you don't have to be a Pool Pro to play. And with the APA's
Equalizer®
Handicap System everyone has a nearly equal chance of winning.
